On Roseview Avenue in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, a small investment firm once took root, laying the foundation for what would become Roseview Global Incubator, an organization dedicated to helping international entrepreneurs turn ideas into thriving businesses in Canada.

In 1998, Rob Douglas, CEO and Founder of Roseview Global Incubator, alongside his business partner, founded Roseview Capital. Named after the street where the business was located, Roseview Capital was created to provide early-stage funding and strategic connections to promising startups.

Acting as a bridge between innovative companies and investors seeking meaningful opportunities, Roseview Capital built a diverse portfolio of impactful early-stage businesses across industries. In doing so, it helped founders transform concepts into viable business models and, ultimately, sustainable enterprises.

In 2008, Roseview Capital’s work caught the attention of the National Angel Capital Organization (NACO). Rob was invited to establish an angel investor network in the Waterloo Region, leading to the creation of the Golden Triangle Angel Network (GTAN).

For over a decade, Rob served as the president of GTAN. During this time, he expanded his network, strengthened the local angel investment ecosystem, and deepened his understanding of international entrepreneurship. Through his work, he became closely engaged with Canada’s innovation and immigration programs designed to attract global founders and economically impactful ventures.

What began as a local investment opportunity gradually evolved into a global perspective.

In 2020, Rob, alongside co-founders Mike Dearden and Melissa Durrell, started Roseview Global Incubator (RGI), focusing on international entrepreneurship. Through their vision to bridge the gap between international founders with their strong ideas, the guidance, networks and localized support needed to succeed in Canada, RGI was born.

Since its founding, RGI has focused on supporting international entrepreneurs as they enter and grow within the Canadian market. With excellence and innovation always at the forefront of its mission, Roseview offers tailored programming, mentorship opportunities and hands-on guidance, supporting founders through everything from market entry to long-term scalability.

RGI works with companies spanning a wide range of industries, intentionally selecting ventures that address real market gaps. Growing the incubator has always meant growing businesses in Canada, creating sustained economic and community impact.

“On a personal level, it’s been incredibly gratifying to see the work we have done,” Rob shares. “I’m proud of the role we play in helping people and their businesses move forward in the spaces where they can thrive. I’m humbled to be part of that journey.”

RGI’s strength lies in its leadership and network. Alongside Rob, the executive team, including partners and co-founders, Mike Dearden, and Melissa Durrell, leverage deep industry relationships to support founders at every stage. The RGI team’s strength comes from its diversity. With a wide range of backgrounds and specialties, each member adds something unique, allowing the team to do more and offer more together.

Together, they connect entrepreneurs with industry experts, onboarding specialists, financial professionals and mentors who understand first-hand the realities of small business growth. This commitment to meaningful connection has helped cultivate an ecosystem where innovation thrives, and emerging leaders are supported.

Mentor support sits at the core of RGI’s approach to founder success. Glenn Smith, a resident mentor with RGI, highlights the organization’s intentional use of its exceptional connectivity. With collaboration embedded in its mission, RGI continues to ensure that progress is shared and outcomes are strengthened across the broader ecosystem.

With award-winning community influence and tailored, results-driven programming, Roseview Global Incubator has built both a strong local legacy and a growing global impact. Its deep community roots continue to provide founders with critical resources they actively contribute to Canada’s innovation economy.

“I hope the future brings even greater opportunities for us to continue our work and help grow the Canadian economy alongside the international entrepreneurs bringing their great ideas,” says Rob. From a local investment firm rooted in community to a global connective force supporting international innovation, Roseview’s journey demonstrates that when every connection matters, lasting impact follows.

“Who would have thought,” Rob adds.
